EXCLUSIVE: FIRST GLIMPSE OF TED LASSO’S WOMEN’S TEAM IN TRAINING

These are the first photos of Coach Ted Lasso’s AFC Richmond’s new women’s Second Division team at a training session for the new Apple TV + series.
Ted, back in his familiar tracksuit and white sun visor cap, could be seen filming with the squad, wearing bright green training bibs.
According to the programme makers: “Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”
The filming was taking place at a west London stadium with clear AFC Richmond branding and where the previous series have also been filmed with the famous greyhound logo over the tunnel.
Six young British actors are expected to fill the roles of members of AFC Richmond’s women’s football team including Tanya Reynolds, Faye Marsay, Abbie Hern, Jude Mack, Rex Hayes and Aisling Sharkey..
Most of the summer filming has taken place in the studios but Ted, played by award-winning writer and creator Jason Sudeikis, has returned to his old haunts at the Prince’s Head pub on Richmond Green which appears in the show as The Crown & Anchor.
They have also filmed scenes at the exclusive riverside fish restaurant Scott’s and a luxury mansion on Richmond Green which is the fictional home of club owner Rebecca Welton played by Hannah Waddingham.
Ted’s trusty sidekick Coach Beard, played by Brendan Hunt, is appearing as well as co-writing the new series and British actors Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple, Phil Dunster, Jeremy Swift and angry AFC Richmond fan, Mr Mann played by Tom Cotcher will all star in Series Four, set to air in Spring 2026.
Two weeks ago Teddington Town revealed that top British comic, TV legend and author Tracey Ullman, was joining the cast in an unknown role.
