Exclusive: THE NEW LION PUB WILL STAR AT TEDDINGTON LIGHTS UP
The Lion Pub in Wick Road, which has been saved and purchased by a community consortium, will be making its first appearance The Teddington Lights Up event on November 27, we can exclusively reveal.
The pub has been undergoing a significant makeover including the exterior of the building which is now covered in scaffolding.
It is hoped the pub, which was closed over more than two years ago, will then reopen with a ‘soft launch’ in early December and in time for the Christmas rush.
The Lion has booked space for a mobile bar at the annual Lights Up event when it will be offering a lager and IPA beer on tap as well as various promotions to lure drinkers to the new Lion when it is finally unveiled.
One leading member of the community consortium, Peter Scott, who lives nearby in Wick Road, said: “It’s beginning to look very exciting and we are gearing up for a very special Christmas.”
He added: “It’s an honour and privilege to be the new custodians of this pub along with our amazing investors, some of whom you’ll be able to meet at Lights Up.
“We look forward to opening our doors and welcoming back our old friends, neighbours and new faces.”
The reopening of the pub is likely to provide several local job opportunities for kitchen and bar staff and anyone interested should email Pete@thelionteddington.com
