ELLERAY CENTRE SET TO OPEN ON LIGHTS UP DAY

The new Elleray Centre, which will be the new home of the Elleray Community Association, (ECA) will open for the first time to the public on at 5pm on Thursday, November 27 – the day of the Teddington Lights Up event, it was announced today.
A spokesperson said: “This will be people’s first opportunity to see just what a splendid facility this centre is going to be.”
Over the next few weeks, ECA will transfer everything it needs from Elleray Hall to the new Elleray Centre in readiness for the formal opening.
The charity provides a weekday service to help keep its members fit, healthy, well-fed and entertained and even when this activity is in full swing, the new centre will have space available for use by tutors, instructors and group leaders to hold their own classes and meetings.
“The vision is that the new centre will become a social asset for the entire community, a place where virtually everyone living in and around Teddington will find something to enjoy,” added the spokesperson.
There will be a coffee bar, a lounge and a terrace overlooking the attractive garden and all parts of the centre will offer wheelchair access.
On the Teddington Lights up day the attractions on offer will include pony rides from Park Lane Stables, a festive choir, refreshments, craft and gift stalls, home-made Christmas cakes, music and face-painting.
The new-look Elleray Centre will open again at 9.30 on Monday, December 1st. Elleray Community Association members will then be able to resume their enjoyment of their classes, activities and lunch in the modern, comfortable and warm environment of this exciting new centre.
