Exclusive: NEW BUTCHERS SHOP FOR TEDDINGTON

Benedict’s Butchers is to open in Teddington in Spring 2026, we can reveal today.
Owner Ben Phillips describes the butchers as ‘A new neighbourhood butcher grounded in quality, provenance and hospitality.”
The local community will give a massive welcome to the return of an independent butchers in Teddington following the closure of the much-loved The Teddington Butcher and formerly Millers Family Butcher in Waldegrave Road a year ago. The shop is still on the market.
The news is yet another boost for the flourishing High Street where The Teddington Pantry has recently opening almost directly opposite
There was a flurry of excitement last year when it was thought a well-known-chain of butchers was about to move into the High Street following the closure of the Ladbrokes betting shop which fell through and is now the Wild Bush dog grooming parlour.

He told Teddington Town: “Teddington will welcome a new addition to its High Street food scene next spring with the opening of Benedict’s Butchers, an independent butcher’s shop created by the team behind Café Benedict, Parsnips Deli and Toastrack Bakehouse.”
Opening in the former Spa Nails premises, Benedict’s Butchers will specialise in exceptional dry-aged British beef, outstanding Welsh lamb, high-welfare British poultry, and a range of small-batch sausages made by skilled butchers using traditional methods.
But this won’t be a typical butcher’s shop.
In keeping with the spirit of Café Benedict and Parsnips, hospitality is at the heart of the concept. Customers can expect a warm welcome, honest advice, cooking tips, and a genuine neighbourhood feel.
Ben Phillips, owner of the Parsnips Group, said: “Teddington has been incredibly supportive of everything we’ve built over the years, and Benedict’s Butchers is our way of bringing something truly special back to the High Street.
“This will be a place where provenance matters, where the butchers know the farms, and where quality and friendliness come first. We want customers to feel looked after the moment they walk in.”
The store will offer:
•Traditional dry-aged ribeyes, sirloins and rumps
•Heritage-breed roasting joints
•Hand-linked sausages in rotating seasonal flavours
•Top-quality chicken, duck and other British poultry
•Special cuts prepared to order by expert butchers
•Weekly specials and seasonal centrepieces
Benedict’s Butchers will also work closely with neighbouring Parsnips Deli and Café Benedict to offer joint food projects, seasonal specials, and signature products developed across the group.
The shop is scheduled to open Spring 2026, with full fit-out and design details to be revealed early next year.
