NEW BUSHY PARK BUGGY SERVICE TO START LATER THIS MONTH

A passenger buggy service will start in Bushy Park on Friday 27 March, Teddington Town learned today.
The Friends of Bushy and Home Parks are providing this, in co-operation with the Royal Parks to carry visitors between the Diana car park and the Woodland Gardens.
What is the buggy service?
It is a service to assist people, especially those who may have mobility difficulties, getting from the Diana car park to the Pheasantry café or the Visitor Centre, or who wish to enter and enjoy the Woodland Gardens.
When will it operate?
The free service will operate every day between approximately 10am and 4 pm depending on the availability of volunteer drivers and depending on the weather.
If it is very wet and cold the service will be suspended.
The service will not operate until 1 pm on Saturdays because the parkrun creates a very busy period on Saturday mornings and the buggy could cause disruption.
The drivers will not only carry passengers with great care but will also provide commentary on the park and answer questions about the park history and wildlife.
Where will it operate?
The map below shows the route the buggy will use.
For those who know the “crocodile gate” to the Woodland Gardens our pick-up and drop-off stop will be near that gate as shown on the map below.
Look for the flag or the notice board which will show where the pick-ups and drop-offs are located.
The pick-up and drop-off in Diana car park is by the old Police box situated by the path to the ponds.
