Exclusive: FIRST SIGNS OF BUILDING WORK FOR ‘THE WICK’S’ NEW PAVILION
It’s not a familiar backdrop to a summer day’s cricket with a giant digger taking up a key position in the field.
But here in Bushy Park it’s a welcome sight as it’s the first sign of work starting on the new cricket pavilion for Hampton Wick Royal cricket club.
The historic pavilion was burned to the ground in a mystery fire in September 2023 but the club has now received the green light to start work.
The full rebuilding is expected to take at least 10 months with club officials hopeful they can be using their new building for the 2027 season and fundraising continues.
