INDEPENDENT RETAILER SET TO SHUT UP SHOP


Another independent retailer in Teddington has fallen victim to the challenge of meeting increased rates and rent charges, it was revealed today.
Pride Hardware at 202 Kingston Road, which stocks DIY items, kitchenware and electrical accessories, has signs in its windows saying ‘closing down’ and ‘all stock reduced’ with 50% discount offers.
The shop, which opened 10 years ago is an ‘Aladdins’s Cave’ of household items and prided itself on stocking anything needed from the biggest to the smallest DIY job.
The owner was reluctant to discuss the closure but said he faced a FOURTEEN PER CENT rent increase and expected to close later this month.

- Locks, keys and security solutions
- Building tools,
- Ironmongery
- Small home appliances
- Homewae, cookware, kitchenware and untensils
- Household cleaning products
- Pest control.
- Pet care goods
- Candles coal and kindling wood
