WANTED: VOLUNTEER RANGERS FOR BUSHY PARK
More volunteer rangers are needed for Bushy Park, it was announced today.
The rangers, who wear bright orange, patrol the parks, working in pairs to welcome visitors and help them get the most out of their experience by sharing facts about the history and nature of the parks,
They also offer tips on the best walking or cycling routes and information about what the public can see and do in these unique green spaces.
More recently, they have had to remind visitors about the dangers of getting too close or feeding the deer.
First launched in 2019, the volunteer ranger service has now expanded to Richmond Park, Greenwich Park and The Regent’s Park.
If you’re friendly, approachable, enthusiastic and want to help tell the fascinating stories of these iconic parks, this volunteering role may be perfect for you.

Volunteer Ranger sessions are two hours long and are available across weekends, bank holidays and weekdays – you choose what sessions you can attend.
Volunteers should be available to commit to a minimum of two sessions per month, for at least 6 months, so we can ensure continuity of service.
These sessions can be on the same day or spread across the weeks. There is no maximum limit for how many sessions volunteers can complete.
Training and support:
The Royal Parks will provide volunteers with a comprehensive introduction and induction to the role, as well as in park training.
You will have continuous support and development from a dedicated Volunteer Officer as well as the Bushy Park Team, and the option to join additional training and learning events that complement the Volunteer Ranger role throughout the year.
