PARK BREWERY TURNS OFF THE TAPS AFTER 12 YEARS
The well-known and multi-award winning independent Park Brewery on the edge of Richmond Park has closed down after 12 years because of rising costs. it was announced today.
Joint owner Frankie Kearns told Teddington Town: “After 12 years we’ve made the very difficult decision that we can’t continue running The Park Brewery and Park Brew & Kitchen ourselves.
“Like so many small hospitality businesses, we’ve faced a pretty relentless combination of rising costs, difficult trading conditions and, more recently, some expensive equipment issues.
“We’ve adapted and fought hard for a long time, but eventually reached the point where we felt we had to call it.
“That said, there is hopefully a little more to the story yet.
“We’ve had a surprising amount of interest in the brewery since the news got out, and we’re currently talking to several parties about potentially taking on the brewery, the site and/or the brand.
“So we’re keeping everything crossed that something positive might still come from it.
“It’s obviously incredibly sad for us after 12 years, but the response has been quite overwhelming and we remain forever grateful to our investors, staff and customers, who have kept us going for so long.”
This is what Josh and Frankie said when they launched in 2014.
“We’re Josh and Frankie, husband and wife. We set up The Park Brewery in 2014 with the aim of creating really sumptuous juicy beers. Hop forward, stand out ales to be savoured and enjoyed.
“Inspired by the new wave of microbreweries surfacing at the time, and loving the great beers coming through, Josh purchased a home brew kit to learn more about the process and started experimenting with the wonderful world of hops.”
