Parade sets off from High Street, Teddington last year
Poppy wreaths surround the memorial outside Teddington Memorial Hospital after last year’s service
This year’s Remembrance Sunday parade will leave Kingston Lane in Teddington at about 10.20am and march slowly to the War Memorial for the traditional service outside Teddington Memorial Hospital at 1050am.
Organisations represented will include local councillors, the Royal British Legion, the Royal Navy, the Army, Sea Cadets, the police, St.John’s Ambulance, the RNLI, the fire brigade, local scouts and guides groups, local clergy, Teddington Memorial Hospital, Park Lane Stables, the Rotary Club and the Teddington Society.
Each group will lay a wreath at the base of the Cenotaph and the National Anthem will be sung after the service.
Following the service participants are welcome back to Cambridge House at about 11.40am opposite Kingston Lane which was previously the headquarters for the Royal British Legion until relaunched as a private club last month.
The memorial, which is made from Portland stone, was unveiled on January 8, 1921, originally to commemorate those who died in the First World War, with later inscriptions added for the Second World War.
