Bach’s Partita No. 3 for Solo Violin lifts off with its intricate Baroque patterns then Paganini’s Sonata Concertata in A Major showcases the violin’s ability to navigate complex emotional terrains with agility and grace. The journey resumes with Astor Piazzolla’s Histoire du Tango, tracing the tango’s transformation from a dance of the streets to a sophisticated global phenomenon.
Ariana Kim has become one of the most respected artists of her generation. Together with the Aizuri Quartet, she was awarded the Gold Medal at the 2017 Osaka International Competition, and a 2019 GRAMMY nomination for her debut album. Ariana is joined by Michael who has performed across North America, South America, and Europe, including the Barbican, Wigmore Hall, and the National Theatre of Panama. In 2022 Michael conducted the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Lancaster House in a programme of new work.
