DESCRIPTION:On Saturday 17 September 2016 (from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm)\, the 
 National Physical Laboratory (NPL) will be opening the doors of Bushy Hous
 e to the public for a rare glimpse inside as part of Open House London 201
 6.\n\nNormally\, Bushy House can only be viewed from the picturesque Bushy
  Park\, but this unique opportunity offers the chance to learn about the h
 istory and scientific significance of this former royal residence from wit
 hin the house itself.\n\nThe house was given to Edward Proger in 1663. Fro
 m 1797\, it was the residence of William\, Duke of Clarence (later William
  IV) and his mistress Dora Jordan. After passing into the hands of Queen V
 ictoria\, it was offered to the Royal Society in 1900 as a location to est
 ablish NPL.\n\nVisitors will have the opportunity to visit various parts o
 f the house and the beautiful gardens\, home to a descendant of Newton's a
 pple tree.\n\nDoors will be open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm\, and entrance i
 s free.\n\nPlease note that there is very limited access for people with d
 isabilities and no dogs are allowed (with the exception of guide and assis
