Supported by Landmark Art Centr e\, the competition is open to any amateur artist from seven years old and upwards. The aim is to showcase the most “Inspiring Elements” of eith er Bushy or Home Park that will encourage others to explore and respect th e beauty of the Parks.\n\n \;\n\nKey dates for the competition:\n\n 1 0th June – applications open for submissions.\n 31st July – applicati ons close at 11.59pm (entries must be submitted online by this date)\n 1s t August – Stage One of judging commences.\n Week commencing 19th Augus t – selected shortlisted artists notified.\n 2nd – 5th September – Artists chosen for the shortlist need to bring their artwork to the Landma rk Arts Centre for second stage of judging\, and for inclusion in our exhi bition.\n 6th September – Stage Two judging at the Landmark Arts Centre \n 9th – 11th September – Installation of exhibition at the Landmark Arts Centre\n 12th September – Exhibition opens\, and public voting sta rts for People’s Choice Award\n 14th September – Private View Recepti on – winners of each category announced.\n 15th September – Exhibitio n closes\n 16th – 17th September – artists must collect unsold artwor ks from the Landmark Arts Centre\n\n \;\n\nWhat: We welcome entries fo r 2D pieces of artwork (all media is welcomed except photography) and no l arger than A2. We want artists to capture their favourite scenic view or a detailed study of a plant or animal from either Bushy Park or Home Park.   We ask that the artwork has been created this year\, either in the stud io based on photographs\, or during an en plein air visit to one of the pa rks.\n\nWhen: Entries should be submitted digitally (JPEG format) from 10t h June until 31st July 2024\, along with a completed entry form and admini stration fee (£10 per adult entry). Selected shortlisted entries will be invited to bring their artwork to the Landmark by the 5th September for se cond stage of judging. They will be then exhibited at the Landmark Art Cen tre from 12th – 15th September 2024. The winners of each category will b e announced at an evening reception on 14th September. The judges will be made up of selected representatives of the local arts and the park communi ties\, plus management of Landmark and Friends of Bushy and Home Parks.\n\ nJudging categories:\n\n 7–11-year-olds (no entry fee required)\n 11 –18 year-olds (no entry fee required)\n 19 years plus – Studio based- study\n 19 years plus – En plein air study (photo proof required)\n Ad ditionally\, there will be a public vote during the exhibition for the “ People’s Choice Award”.\n\nPrizes: Adult winners in each category and the Peoples Award will receive a range of prizes including cash prize (sup ported by Teddington Community Lottery)\, a guided nature/history walk wit h refreshments (donated by Colicci’s)\, free 12-month membership to the Friends of Bushy and Home Parks and the Landmark Art Centre.
