Dubbed a “female Bob Dylan’ the critically acclaimed, Anglo-American songstress Sarah Gillespie is renowned for her trademark poetic lyrics.
Her 5 albums of original songs received outstanding reviews from the UK press and she’s toured extensively for the last 14 years, headlining leading venues and festivals in Europe, the UK and USA. She’s twice played live on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Woman’s Hour’ + was interviewed by Andrew Marr on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Start the Week’ on the role of politics in song. (She has a master’s degree in politics + philosophy).
Gillespie will be performing material from her latest album Half Cut (Pastiche Records) plus debuting some new songs accompanied by her long term, power-house band Chris Montague (guitar), James Maddren (drums) and Conor Chaplin (bass).
Local support artist is Rhianna Jackson, a young, talented singer-songwriter who has been establishing herself within the busking community in Kingston since the age of 14. Her unique blend of heartfelt lyrics and soulful melodies captivate audiences.
