Wedding Day Race: Bushy Park
The annual Wedding Day 7km Bushy Park run will take place on Friday 31st July 2009 (7:30pm start).
The start/finish will be just inside Hampton Hill park gate by Hampton Hill Cricket Club who will also be providing some space for changing.
There is also a children’s race happening simultaneously so they don’t feel left out. Prizes will be awarded after the race that will include first junior across the line, first couple and first pub/work team.
Fancy joining in the fun? Runners will be required to pre-register – see the Stragglers site for full details.
The Wedding Day Race started as a celebration race to mark Prince Charles and Diana’s wedding, it now occurs on the last Friday in July each year.
Charities that benefited from last years charity race included:
St John Ambulance, Relate, Gingerbread, The Princess Alice Hospice, The Shooting Star Trust, The Good Rock Foundation, The Royal, Gardeners Benevolent Fund, United Reformed Church (Hampton Hill).
[Update] Race write-up and full results have been posted online.
We have just blogged about the 2010 Wedding Day Race – sounds like a lot of fun and great help for a number of excellent local causes.
