Anglers bank holiday weekend carnival

EventsStuck for something to do this bank-holiday weekend? Why not visit the carnival being held at the Anglers. The festivities will include the following:

Real Ale and Cider Tent: Wide range of weird and wonderful beers and ciders including some from Twickenham Ales

Pimms Tent: Pimms cocktails as well as fresh straweberries and cream

Greek Festival: Traditional pork souvlaki, lamb burgers, halloumi with flat bread. Also marinated olives, and Greek salad with feta – all washed down with a chilled bottle of Mythod.

Spanish Fiesta: Jugs or glasses of Sangria, traditional paella with seafood, chicken and chorizo, Spanish tortilla, Patatas bravas and marinated olives.

Caribbean Carnival: Spicy spit roast jerk chicken, traditional rice and peas, curry goat, sweet potato salad, jerk chicken burger all washed down with rum punch.

Hog Roast and Sausage Sizzle: Delicious Blythburgh free-range spit roast pork, Fullers London Pride sausages and classic 6oz burgers.

Fish and Chip Shop: Fullers beer battered fresh cod, haddock or skate, salmon fishcakes and fishfingers for the kids. Served with chips, mushy peas, pickled onions, beans, gravy, pickled eggs. All served like proper chip meals should be – in paper.

Ice Cream Hut: Choose from their range of Movenpick ice creams or home-made milkshakes.

As if that’s not enough for you, there is also face painting for kids, picnics on the beach, coconut shy, giant Jenga and Connect 4, limbo dancing.

The carnival will take place Saturday 29th August until Monday evening on the 31st.

Day-specific events are Sunday: magician, Monday: fire-eater, steel band and Jamaican reggae band, then in the evening Chinese flame lanterns (£5 each to support Help for Heroes).
