Teddington Lights Up – 25th November (detail)
Teddington is gearing up for one of its busiest nights of the year! The switching on of the Christmas Lights and late-night shopping always fills the streets full to the brim with families and early Christmas shoppers supporting their local high street.
If you’re hoping to see Santa on the night then you shouldn’t be disappointed! There will be one in his Sleigh on The Causeway, another either on foot or in a RNLI Lifeboat at the Kings Head and also Santa in his grotto at Play-Inside-Out. The ever popular children’s treasure hunt will be available from Casa Del Habano.
At 5:30pm outside Elmfield House, carols will be sung by Churches Together in Teddington and the Salvation Army. At 6pm after addressing the crowd and turning on the lights, children’s book author Dame Jacqueline Wilson will be meeting children at Waterstones but only a limited number of tickets are available for this – contact Waterstones to see if any remain.
There is a huge list of shop events to visit this year and they will be happening on Broad Street, High Street, and pedestrianised Church Road (with live music and more) and The Causeway from 3:30-9pm.
Al Borgo in Church Road will have free wine and a selection of Italian appetisers
The Anglers will be dispensing mulled wine and have a hog roast outside Sims
Coffee roasters Astrora Coffee will be offering coffee tasters & home baked cookies
Boots will be hosting the Teddington School Jazz Band who will be playing from 6.30-7.30pm
The Teddington head office of charity Beating Bowel Cancer will have a stand on the green outside Harlequin House from 4.30pm until 7pm
Dexters on the High Street will be offering mince pies and wine
Diners Delight in Church Road will offer free Turkish mezes and belly dancing
Create your own Christmas decorations and enjoy mulled wine at Featherstone Leigh
Friends of Bushy and Home Park will have a stand in the Causeway from 4-6pm
Fusion Fireplaces in Church Road will be offering free roast chestnuts and hot drinks
Happy Potter Ceramics will be entertaining all with winter warmer drinks and cakes, late-night pottery painting until 9pm and 10% off your final bill. Tables bookable and they are also having a Christmas bauble painting competition!
At The Kings Head, a Teddy Bear Tombola will be held during the evening along and Santa will be found just outside from 6:30pm
Kindle Stoves, 1 Station Road, are mulling wine and warming mince pies on their woodburning stoves from 5.30pm
La Casa Del Habano on the High Street will have a Treasure Hunt for children up to 16 years from 4pm and chocolate sampling from 6pm onwards
Santa’s Sleigh, courtesy of The Lions, will be in the Causeway from 6.30pm
The Loft which will be open for late night shopping
Free raffle tickets will be available for children at Mela Mela (4-7pm) for the chance to win a Harrods teddy bear
Mitzi B on the High Street will be offering 20% off all handbags on the night of 25th November only
The Nearest Cafe in Church Road will have free boozy coffee and Christmas nibbles tasters from their Christmas party menu: aranccini, mini sausages, gingerbread & cheese & red onion marmalade
New Generation Nails, Simply Skin, Teddington Physio and Teddington Osteopathic are holding a raffle from 5-8pm
Park Lane Stables elf helpers will be offering “Reindeer Rides” for children on The Causeway
Physio&Therapy, Broad Street, will be offering free face painting for children and free hot drinks for parents between 5-7pm
Santa’s Grotto will be at Play Inside Out on Broad Street from 4.30-6.30pm. Music Bugs will also be here in the new toy shop location
A D-Class Lifeboat and Volunteer Crew from Teddington Lifeboat Station will be on display in the Kings Head car park – available for photos and handing out river safety leaflets and Lifeboat stickers. Also from 6:30pm the Rotery Club Father Christmas will also be on the Lifeboat!
Royal British Legion will be providing hot soup and mulled wine at 135 High Street
Scarpetta will be offering pizzettes and Christmas cakes at the front of the restaurant for the early birds and for pre-booked tables a 15% discount on the evening
Shambles on the High Street are offering complimentary Amaretti biscuits and Christmas music after 6.30pm
Sims Opticians in the Causeway will be open and giving away mince pies and sweeties to hungry visitors
Starbucks on the High Street will be offering samples of hot drinks during the evening. Substance Photography is shooting professional family portraits here from 9am – 8pm in aid of Sense UK
Synchronicity (Power Plate Studio) in Church Road will be offering free mince pies and special offers on ‘Bamboo’ clothing range
Local trade network Teddnet will have a stand near Curchods in the High Street where you can enjoy a glass of mulled wine from 4pm
Teddington Arms mince pies, roasted chestnuts and mulled wine. All accompanied by live music from Ged & Steve at 6:30pm and funk & soul from DJ Yasmeen at 9pm
Teddington Methodist Church (opposite the Hospital) will have a crib scene and serve warm non-alcoholic punch, mince pies and roast chestnuts and play some Christmas music
The Teddington Society will have a stand in the Causeway from 3:30-5:30pm
