Age Concern Richmond’s Handyperson service currently works in over 90 homes in Teddington, helping people with odd jobs, like fitting a lock, changing a light bulb or putting up a shelf. If you live in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and are over 60 or have a disability you can call on the Age Concern Richmond’s Handyperson Service.
The service aims to help residents feel safe and secure within their own home. The kinds of jobs that the Handy people undertake on a daily basis are replacing curtain rails, installing hand rails or a key safe, they can even help with changing a light bulb if the person is not confident on a pair of steps.
The Handyperson Service can help with jobs in the garden like mending fences or tidying up the garden. They can install a range of telecare products which can help with improving safety, security and independence in the home. In 2010 home visit computer tuition was added to the service to help people with using the Internet and email.
