Lantern Procession to light up streets

EventsOn Sunday 15th December 2013, Teddington will see streets lit-up by a special Christmas lantern procession ‘A wish for Christmas’. At 4:30pm the procession will take the route from Teddington Memorial Hospital along Broad Street, Elleray Road, Middle Lane, The Causeway and Church Road.

The procession, organised by the Teddington Business Community, will be led by Santa’s Sleigh and after finishing in Church Road, at 6pm there will be Christmas carols by candle-lit lanterns, gifts, food & drink and live music to enjoy led by Teddington Baptist Church. If you or your children need to request presents from the man himself, Santa’s Grotto will be at Play Inside Out from 2-4pm before the parade (pre-book in advance).

Many shops in Broad Street will be holding Christmas festivities on the day and will be open for Christmas shopping. Restaurants, cafes and shops in Church Road will be open for everyone to enjoy and the Endurance Steel Orchestra will also be playing music on Church Road until 8pm.

The lanterns will be created and paraded by local children from Teddington schools, Brownies and other local groups. The procession will be a sight to behold – the first lantern event for the borough so put a note in your diary to watch the spectacle and join in the fun!
