Art Update

EventsThe Architects Gallery is currently featuring works by urban landscape artist Julian Bovis. Having studied architecture he turned his hand to directing national newspapers but is now back enveloped in his art full-time.

This includes a new series of super size pen and ink drawings that include landmarks, historical buildings, gardens, bridges and streets – featuring London, Richmond Borough and Teddington. Pictured below for a portrait in front of his Strawberry Hill Station piece, you can see more of his striking work here.

If you like the look of the colourful paintings by Stephanie Wilkinson, you can now see how they might look hanging on a wall in your home with a free week’s trial! Stephanie is also currently exhibiting her work at the Fountain Gallery in East Molesey.

Also at the Fountain Gallery for her first exhibition were oil paintings by Annabel Jane Collins, from Teddington and with some noticeable local landmarks and sights pictured such as the Landmark Arts Centre, Bushy Park and Teddington footbridge.

The Richmond and Twickenham Photographic Society Annual Exhibition returns to the Landmark Arts Centre 9th to the 21st of April 2014 – on show will be fine art photography and projected digital images plus the Royal Photographic Society’s Visual Art Group touring exhibition and examination work by students of St. Catherine’s Girls School.

A local resident is hoping to find out about the artist(s) behind some drawings (below) by Jeannie Fletcher and her husband Leslie, believed to be from Teddington. One picture is signed 1953 – if anyone has any information about them or the works could they get in touch.

Entries are open for this year’s ArtHouse Open Studios – aimed at showcasing creative talent in the borough by opening artists door’s to the public in June and July this year. Closing date for submission is this Friday 29th February 2014.
