Teddington Lights Up with Team GB and Mayor of Richmond

The annual Teddington Lights Up event took place on Thursday 24th November as the local community came together to celebrate the switch on.

The Mayor of Richmond Cllr David Linnette was joined by members of the Team GB Olympic squad in the fun-filled evening that ran from 4pm to 9pm.

The evening kicked off with Teddington Rugby Club leading Santa and his sleigh into the high street and continued with local businesses putting on a whole host of activities for the community.

The people of Teddington were treated to festive food, late night shopping and even got to scrum with Harlequins Rugby team as festive cheer filled the street.

The River were on hand to produce some excellent live music along with the Teddington Jazz band who put on a show outside of Shambles, who even had fresh pasta making.

Teddington residents were delighted with the vast array of events along the high street and some lucky people even got their hands on an Olympic medal!

The evening was funded by Teddington Together, a completely voluntary committee where everyone takes time out of their busy schedule to raise funds for the “Lights Up” event as well as the Christmas lights.

Teddington Together would like to thank each business for their continued hard work and for making this year another huge success.
