Richmond Rugby Gets Grant To Provide Children With Summer Meals.

The organisation will give children who
already get free nutritional meals with their school, meals on a daily basis. This
is due to securing the money from the London Coronavirus Response Fund.

The club spokesman had spoken to a
number of schools and have identified the need for vulnerable children to still
be able to receive a nutritional cooked meal throughout the summer months so
they can remain physically and mentally healthy.

Richmond Rugby Head of Community
has confirmed that they’ll be catering to these children from mid-July until
schools return in September.  Their team
at the Richmond Athletic Association will cook daily meals, Monday to Friday,
for up to 40 local children.

The cooked meals will be delivered
by the rugby volunteers, who have also been working hard supporting the ‘Dons
Local Action Group’ at our food collection points every Saturday at the
Athletic Ground and daily at Tesco Extra Twickenham.
