Network Rail Are Looking To Add Lifts At Teddington Station’s Footbridge
Network Rail have developed proposals to add two new lift shafts to the existing footbridge. This is to make Teddington station more accessible for passengers, in-particular those with reduced mobility.
This Is part of the Access For All programme which aims to provide an obstacle free, accessible route to and between platforms.
Currently, passengers with reduced mobility, who can’t walk up the steps have to walk 20mins to get to the other platform.
The plan is to construct lift shafts and motor rooms, planning permission has been granted by the council, however some land will be required temporarily for construction purposes and some permanent for one of the lifts.
The work is to be constructed in 2022/23.
