Latest Bus Strikes Suspended

Bus driver strikes scheduled to disrupt travel in Teddington today, the 26th of April have been cancelled.

Following an offer for improved bus driver pay, today’s strikes were called off and future strikes scheduled for Friday the 7th and Saturday the 8th of May have been temporarily suspended pending a review of the details pertaining to the pay offer.

“The London United bus drivers have not received a pay rise for three years but have continued to keep London moving during three lockdowns, risking their health to do so.

Since the beginning of this dispute Unite has always believed that strikes could be avoided if the company was prepared to enter into meaningful negotiations. Unite’s views haven’t changed but the stance of the French board needs to change dramatically to prevent further disruption to passenger journeys in the future.” said Unite officer Michelle Braveboy.

Pending strike action is likely to affect services run by London United across west and southwest London and parts of Surrey. Affected services include some night and school routes.

Areas most affected include White City/Shepherds Bush, Acton, Heathrow, Hounslow, Kingston, Richmond, Surbiton, Wimbledon and Sutton.

Check for bus service status updates on future strike dates and allow more time for your journey where possible.
