Debunking the myths about fertility and pregnancy with the COVID-19 vaccine

A panel of senior clinicians will answer resident questions and discuss the misconceptions about COVID-19 vaccines regarding pregnancy, fertility and breastfeeding later this month.

The free online event is on the 20 May at 6.30pm and is open to all residents across South West London.  Residents who have any questions or concerns regarding the COVID-19 vaccine if they are pregnant or planning on getting pregnant in the future, can put their questions directly to an expert panel, which will include an Obstetrician-Gynaecologist, Haematologist and Dr Anu Jacob, Clinical Lead for Maternity South West London.

Councillor Gareth Roberts, Leader of Richmond Council, said:

“The vaccine roll out programme has made great progress with over 940,000 vaccines delivered across South West London already – and over 285,000 of those vaccinated having received both doses.

“I understand that women thinking about or planning to get pregnant will want to be sure that they are doing everything they can to keep themselves and their baby healthy and safe. There is some misinformation about the vaccine and fertility and pregnancy and it can be hard to know what is true and what isn’t.

“We want to ensure that Richmond residents are well informed about the vaccine and have the opportunity to speak to health experts about any concerns they might have.”

There are limited places available for the session, which can be booked by registering on this form.

Participants will be able to ask questions live using the ‘chat’ function, but will also be able to send questions in advance using this form.

Following the question and answer session, Richmond will add the most frequently asked questions and answers to the Covid pages on their website.

Further information about the vaccine can be found on the South West London NHS CCG website.
