WIN A PRINT SIGNED BY STARS OF NORMAL PEOPLE & FLEABAG IN LANDMARK PRIZE DRAW!

Landmark launches new £26,000 fundraising target to save centre from closure.

Fans of TV hit dramas, Normal People and Fleabag, will have a chance to win an original print signed by the stars of the shows – Paul Mescal, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Andrew Scott – in a prize draw launching on 22 May for The Landmark Arts Centre.

The Landmark was the ‘top secret’ venue for the much-anticipated, one-off crossover sketch made for the BBC’s and RTE’s Comic Relief when Paul and Daisy reprised their roles as Marianne and Connell and ‘confessed all’ to Andrew Scott’s hot priest from Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s hit show.

The stars pledged their support for the Save The Landmark campaign and signed the artwork, by local artist Jennie Ing, which is being raffled to raise vital funds. There will also be a photo of the ‘dream team’ on The Landmark’s famous stage, which was the backdrop for the making of A-ha’s pop video, The Sun Always Shines on T.V., and where many great artists have performed including, Dire Straits’ John Illsley, Barbara Dickson, Mica Paris, Andy Fairweather-Low and the venue for the filming of Elizabeth starring Cate Blanchett.

Lesley Bossine, Landmark’s Centre Manager, commented “We were so grateful to Paul, Daisy and Andrew for supporting our appeal and are excited to offer this special print now to raise much needed funds. Despite being able to partially reopen, we need to earn £13,000 a month to pay our routine overheads and every entry into this draw will help us reach that target.”

The Landmark launched an emergency fundraising appeal in April 2020 as its closure, due to the pandemic, meant that it faced permanent closure by May 2020. A massive crowdfunding effort raised over £76,000 and thanks to grants from the Government’s Cultural Recovery Fund and the local authority it can remain financially viable until the end of June 2021. However, while the ability to raise income is currently restricted, the need to continue fundraising remains critical.

The special #normalpeopleprint is on display at The Landmark and the prize draw is running until Saturday 19 June when the lucky winner will be randomly selected. Proceeds raised will help The Landmark reach a target of £26,000 which is desperately needed to keep the centre open, after loss of income due to the pandemic, and enable the charity to continue being a vital community arts hub for all.
