LANDMARK ARTS CENTRE ANNOUNCES AUTUMN SEASON
Highlights include:
• Raynor Winn and the Gigspanner Big Band: Saltlines.
• Comedy big-hitters, Rich Hall and Marcus Brigstocke bring tours to Teddington.
• The music of Kate Bush by Cloudbusting
• Festival Fever: First-ever Beer festival, Trash to Treasure Fest.
Teddington’s Landmark Arts Centre has announced its new autumn events featuring a programme packed with live music, cinema and art, plus some of the biggest names on the UK comedy circuit.
Global bestselling author of The Salt Path and The Wild Silence, Raynor Winn, joins with folk-roots supergroup, Gigspanner, to form an exciting musical and literary collaboration (29 October). Taking inspiration from Raynor’s moving novels, they celebrate the beauty, stories and traditions of the southwest coast path.
Kate Bush fans, old and new, will be thrilled by the return of the highly acclaimed Kate Bush tribute band, Cloudbusting, with their brand-new Love & Anger show, performing classic hits Wuthering Heights, Hounds of Love,
Running up that Hill and more (30 September).
The programme features a range of artists from across the blues, world music, folk roots and British R&B genres. South African acappella singing and traditional dance group, Black Umfolosi, visit on 17 September. Blues band, The Milk Men, play on 15 September and stalwarts of the British R&B scene, Maggie Bell and Dave Kelly, play on 2 October.
There is plenty on offer for fans of folk roots with Keith James, Blazin’ Fiddles, the Budapest Café Orchestra and more.
The comedy offering goes from strength to strength this season with some of the biggest names in UK comedy.
Rich Hall (6 October) and Marcus Brigstocke (8 December) who are both bringing their new tours to The Landmark before they hit the Edinburgh Fringe. Plus, another top comic on the UK comedy circuit Ivo Graham (10 November).
The Landmark’s ever-popular arts fairs return with the Autumn Art Fair taking place over the weekend of 14-16 October and the SPARKLE Festive Fair from 18-20 November.
New to The Landmark is the Teddington Beer Festival from 3-5 November 2022. The festival will be a showcase of some of the finest craft beers and ciders from across the country, as well as local breweries, with a range of 60 plus real ales and ciders on offer. As well as beers, there will be delicious street food and live music from local bands.
Lesley Bossine, arts centre manager, commented: “We’re very excited to be welcoming some wonderful artists and performers to The Landmark this season, the programme is packed and there are some new events to look out for. We have a festival vibe with the Trash to Treasure Fest and our first-ever beer festival. The screen season returns with some great movies for all ages and comedy fans will not be disappointed with the line-up. There will also be our stimulating range of classes, including some great
new ones for families, and fabulous art fairs.”
