Teddington Cricket Club in Bushy Park played host to top England’s Rugby World Cup squad

Coach Steve Borthwick and his assistant Kevin Sinfield were spotted on the boundary with player Jack Willis as members of the squad, temporarily based at The Lensbury in Teddington, were treated to a change of scenery as well as sport.

The squad included Jamie George, Anthony Watson, Kyle Synckler, Ben Youngs, Joe Cokanasinga, Freddie Stewart, Joe Marchant and Marcus Smith from Harlequins, Jack Willis, Elliot Daly, Ellis Genge and Sam Underhill.

A Teddington Cricket Club official said: “We were delighted to welcome some special guests to the club last week. A fantastic evening of cricket enjoyed by all. The club wishes Steve Borthwick and the England team the very best for the upcoming World Cup.”

The Rugby World Cup is due to start in France in September with England’s first game against Argentina on September 9 in Marseille.
