POLICE LAUNCH RAPE INVESTIGATION IN TEDDINGTON

POLICE cordoned off a large section of Udney Hall Gardens in Teddington today as part of a rape investigation.

The alleged offence took place on the Kingston Road site of the park, which runs alongside Langham Road on the opposite side.

Today a blue tent had been erected inside the cordoned off area  with forensic experts wearing blue protective clothing looking for and collecting evidence.

Two police officers stood on the pavement to ensure passers-by did not encroach and a crime scene investigation van was parked at the roadside.

In a short statement the police said: “‘On Tuesday, 18 July police received an allegation of rape from a female. An investigation is ongoing and the female is being supported by specially trained officers.”

According to the police no arrests have been made and  “enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”
