BUSHY PARK PICNIC WARNING
The Royal Parks has issued a warning following a spate of incidents involving Bushy Park picnickers and the deer.
The deer have started to approach visitors for food because people are regularly feeding them, often with inappropriate food.
An eye catching bright yellow sign shows a silhouetted image of a deer with full antlers and a picnic basket and says: ‘Wild deer are raiding picnics.’
The sign adds; “This is dangerous to visitors, harms the animals, the environment and encourages pests.”
The Royal Parks offers four pieces of advice including: “Keep children and pets as far away from the deer as possible.”
And finally, the sign says: “
DO NOT shout or attempt to scare the deer, this could cause a stampede.”
