HAMPTON WICK ROYAL CRICKET CLUB BURNS DOWN

A mystery fire has caused major damage to Hampton Wick Royal cricket club’s pavilion in Bushy Park.

Forty firefighters and six fire engines tackled the blaze. The emergency services were alerted at 315 am. No one was injured

A local resident had recently noticed that the Cricket Club access gate had been locked so the Fire Crew had to grind the gates open at 03:30 this morning after they were alerted to the blaze.  The local resident also said that he spoke to a Firefighter this morning who implied that fires like this don’t just happen.

The club and surrounding area have been popular for youngsters gathering at night as the gates are normally open.
