Are you a budding gardener fit for a Palace?

The Historic Royal Palaces, which is closely linked The Friends of Bushy and Home Park is looking for volunteer gardeners to work in the grounds of beautiful Hampton Court Palace.

They are planning a volunteer recruitment drive this autumn as part of their efforts to grow the gardening volunteer team and will be hosting two ‘taster’ volunteer days on Wednesday 19 September and Wednesday 11 October in a morning and afternoon session to help maintain these stunning gardens on the banks of the River Thames.

They say: “If you enjoy gardening and have some time spare for volunteering, please join us at Hampton Court Palace for a taster volunteering session in the beautiful gardens at the Palace.

“Our friendly group of dedicated volunteers support the fantastic gardening team in our endeavours to care for and maintain the glorious and historic gardens.”

If you are successful you will be working in one of the gardens at the Palace weeding, cutting back and tidying up, enjoying the spectacular surroundings of the gardens at Hampton Court Palace.

Tools and guidance will be provided; please bring gloves if possible and wear sturdy outdoor footwear.

The times of the volunteer sessions will be 9.30am-12.00 or 13.00 -15.30 or if you are interested you may be able to stay the whole day.

The sessions will be limited to 10 people per session, on a first come, first served basis. Please email gandevolunteering@hrp.org.uk to apply. Give your first and second choice of timing for the session.
