Teddington Lottery also donated £1000 to the Hampton Wick Royal Cricket Club (HWRCC) crowdfunding campaign towards building temporary accommodation following the devastating fire which burned down the pavilion in early September.
The donation will be matched by Sport England which means the campaign has reached its first £20.000 target.
HWRCC Chair, Sam Kemp said: “The lottery is a very easy way to support local causes and really helps us with our particular fundraising campaign to bring sport back to The Wick as soon as possible.
“With so many grant applications it can take months to actually get the paperwork processed and agreed and this was done in a few days. We are very grateful to the Community Fund of the Teddington Lottery and wish you good luck for the future.”
This week’s Teddington Lottery draw had seven lucky winners, one player with a £25 cash win whose chosen good cause is the Hampton Hill Cricket Club. Six others won THREE free tickets for weeks draw on Saturday, 11th November.
The other local good causes to benefit from the winners are Crossroads charity, Hampton Hill Theatre, Whitton Wanderers Youth FC, Hampton & Richmond Borough Youth FC and Hearts of Teddlothian FC.
Local Lib Dem MP Munira Wilson has welcomed the lottery and said: “A local lottery such as the Teddington Lottery is a very creative and simple way of supporting local good causes. Many of us have strong connections with charities or worthwhile projects which are very local to us, and have affected us personally or those close to us.
“This is a very straightforward way for us to show some support, especially in these days of cost-of-living constraints and fundraising challenges. I wish the lottery every success!”
