CRIME SHOCK IN TEDDINGTON – POLICE REPORT
A suspect was involved in a dramatic chase with police then challenged with a taser before being arrested in Teddington High Street, police reported today (tuesday)
According to the Metropolitan Police the incident happened just after 0100 hours when officers were called to a road rage incident where the caller was being threatened by the occupant of a Mercedes.
Richmond Response Team attended and on sighting officers, the suspect vehicle made off, and was pursued.
The dramatic chase came to an end on Teddington High Street near Waterstones book shop where the suspect was challenged with a taser and arrested.
Inside the vehicle were found multiple bottles of nitrous oxide, 30 snap bags of MDMA, 20 snap bags of meth amphetamine, 18 snap bags of crack cocaine, 48 packets of cannabis edibles and 28 snap bags of cannabis and hash.
In addition to the drugs, £1500 cash was recovered, a baseball bat, eight mobile phones and bank cards.
The police added: “If you were woken by sirens on the route of the pursuit, apologies, but hopefully you all recognise the necessity sometimes.”
In a separate warning police say they have seen an increase in the number of parcel thefts in the Borough in the run up to Xmas.
“This is likely due to Christmas deliveries increasing temptation for thieves in the area,” said a police spokesperson.
Grant Nash, aged 38, has been charged with two offences today, having been witnessed by patrolling officers to steal a parcel from a residential address in Manor Road, Teddington, yesterday.
He was chased after trying to escape on a pedal cycle, and detained. Further stolen items were found on his person.
According to police Nash was one of the ‘most wanted’ offenders at the time of his arrest.
