EXCLUSIVE: TEDDINGTON’S WALDEGRAVE ARMS SET TO REOPEN
EXCLUSIVE
One of Teddington’s most popular pubs, The Waldegrave Arms, in Waldegrave Road, is set to reopen after two years, we can reveal.
The pub, known locally at ‘The Waldy’ is a big favourite of students at nearby St Mary’s University and is being fully refurbished and upgraded as a pub and a cocktail bar.
The pub, thought to date back to 1871, was closed down in August 2021, but will reopen as The Waldegrave Arms and Siyansh Cocktail Bar and the new signage is clearly visible.
A notice on the window, where work was taking place today (sunday) offers job opportunities for bar staff, Bartender, waiters and cleaners and states: “Opening Soon.”
Local pubs have experienced a tough time recently with the long-term closure of The Lion in Wick Road and the Builders Arms in Field Lane but the Red Lion in Stanley Road has recently reopened for business.
