NEWS: One week left to nominate your local Community Heroes for an award!

It’s the last chance to nominate an inspiring person, group, organisation or business that has helped to make Richmond upon Thames a better place and improve people’s lives.

Richmond Council’s annual Community Heroes Awards is a chance to recognise and celebrate the contributions and achievements of local people who go the extra mile to do good in their communities, care for the most vulnerable among us and create fairer, stronger communities for their neighbours.

Cllr Nancy Baldwin, Richmond Council’s Spokesperson for Communities, Equalities & the Voluntary Sector said:

“Each year, the Community Heroes nominations we receive bring to light the incredible ways that members of our community work tirelessly and selflessly to give back and make our borough a better place to be, for everyone.

These good deeds largely happen under the radar, without the expectation of thanks or recognition. But just because it’s not expected doesn’t mean it’s not deserved, and these awards give us an opportunity to share these amazing stories with our community and celebrate our unsung heroes for all that they contribute.

This year, we really want to make our Community Heroes Awards a memorable celebration, so we are looking for as many nominations as possible! I’m sure we all know someone who fits this description – let’s make sure they received the recognition and gratitude they deserve!”

There are 10 award categories that people can nominate for:
