Teddington Dance Studio is kicking up a storm with TWENTY-NINE students waltzing off to the All England Regional finals in May, it was announced today.

If any of the twenty nine students progress through the regional finals they will move on to compete in the prestigious All England National finals in July.

Natalie Randhawa, who originally set up the studios in 2012 at Teddington Baptist Church with just four classes, has now ‘graduated’ to a new home in The Causeway in the old Barclays Bank building.

The studios have two purpose-built studios with specially sprung floors, air conditioning, mirrors and ballet barres offering a whole range of dance classes from ballet, tap, modern, jazz, drama and singing as well as adult ballet and tap classes.

The school has 200 students ranging in ages from 2 – 18 as well as adult classes and runs 60 classes a week costing from £7 per class. Students come from as far afield as Sunbury and Guildford and is a health mix of boys and girls.

Natalie says: “My dream was to have my own studio in Teddington with the facilities for my students to really progress. I have fulfilled my dream, which makes me feel very proud.”

The Dance Studios, which celebrates its first anniversary at its Causeway home next month, has a first class record in examination passes and training with 90% of students receiving ‘Distinctions’ and a 100%  Scholarship rate with students who have applied for bursaries within the Performing Arts sector.

“TDS offers an exciting range of performance opportunities across the community for everyone from any background and age. We are not just an after school club. We offer a high quality of training that allows students the option of continuing their training at vocational colleges and pursue a future career in the performing arts industry, “she says.

“We are very passionate about what we do and the level of talent is wonderful and inspirational to see and we encourage every individual to do their best to reach their full potential.

“TDS prides itself on providing a nurturing and supportive environment for all its students. The focus is not just on technical skills, but also on building confidence, discipline, and a love for dance and performance. The school is dedicated to helping students achieve their goals, whether that be to pursue a career in the industry or to simply have fun.

“Our teachers are not only highly skilled and experienced in their respective fields but also passionate about sharing their knowledge and inspiring the next generation of performers.

“We are proud to be a recognized School with the Council for Dance Education and Training, which ensures that we meet high standards of teaching and professionalism. Our certificate of good professional practice for the 6th year in a row is a testament to our commitment to excellence.”

The Studios have provided students for various TV and film productions including Netflix’s Treason and Matilda, The Musical Film, Bake Off the Musical and the Brit Awards.
