RIVER THAMES FLOOD ALERT FOR TEDDINGTON TOWPATH
A flood alert for the Teddington towpath was issued early today (monday)
The alert also applies to Richmond. Putney, Chiswick, the Embankment at Twickenham and the towpath below Teddington Lock.
The river levels are expect to be high because of spring tides and the river flow at Teddington Weir is especially high for this time of year.
“We expect the flows to remain high for the next few days,” said a spokesperson for the Environment Agency..
Last month the Teddington RNLI was called out to rescue two CYCLISTS who were caught by surprise by the sudden surge of water on the Richmond towpath and have warned cyclists and walkers to check the tides before they set out at this time of year.
