FIRST GLIMPSE OF NEW TEDDINGTON FOOTBRIDGE WALKWAY
Here is the first sight of the temporary walkway to Teddington footbridge while the old ramp in Ferry Road is repaired and upgraded.
The bridge – a key shortcut for cycling commuters – and popular route for dog walkers – was fully closed over the weekend.
A team of workmen worked around the clock to ensure the bridge could reopen at 6am this morning (Monday) in time for schoolchildren and commuters.
The wooden pillars supporting the ramp which runs alongside the Anglers pub are rotten and the steel supports are badly corroded and need replacing.
it is s hoped that only one further full weekend closure will be required to allow the programme of work complete on schedule in October.
