ROYAL PARKS APPEAL TO DOG OWNERS
The Royal Parks, which control both Bushy and Richmond Parks today reminded dog owners to keep their distance from the deer despite the end of the mandatory dogs on leads period,
The rule which applied for three months of the deer birthing season ended yesterday much to the relief of the hundreds of dog owners who exercise their dogs in both parks.
There were various reports of deer being chased by out of control dogs and one deer in Bushy Park was fatally injured during the period.
A spokesperson for The Royal Parks told Teddington Town:”Following the end of the deer birthing season, when dogs were required to be on leads, we remind visitors that while leads are no longer mandatory, it’s essential to stay at least 50 meters away from deer for the safety of both the deer and dogs.”
