AN OPEN LETTER FROM RICHMOND RETAILER TO TED LASSO TEAM

Every day, even just a few minutes ago, I was telling my customers about the first time we saw the actors.

It was August 4, 2019, and we had opened the store on June 7, 2019.

Honestly, we had never seen them before, but it was really fun to follow the backstage, and we were eager to see them on television.

Having the actors here was really special for us—they were like neighbours, always kind and willing for us to take photos, even patient when we disturbed them with the camera flashes.

Of course, the success of Ted Lasso quickly spread from America.

It was the first time we found ourselves “somehow” involved in something so big, simply because we were on Paved Court.

The most beautiful thing was how Ted Lasso helped people cope with COVID, and everyone was talking about it.

Being stuck at home, unable to see anyone, not being able to hug anyone and Ted Lasso gave hope, the perseverance to never stop believing that we would all make it through.

It’s true that it helped many people, and I think that’s also the secret to their success—people love them.

Everyone asks me what the actors are like, and I always tell them the same thing: exactly like in the series—people who live day by day with their struggles and joys.

We can never thank them enough; the series brought us a significant increase in business and a lot of global fame and in America, where newspapers listed our address for tourists, which was fantastic.

We had just arrived from Italy, and despite our experience in the industry, it was a new country, a new language… but Ted Lasso allowed us to survive, and we would be really happy to see them filming at Paved Court again.

We can’t wait to see you guys again!

Kind regards Claudio and Cristina, of Reale Camiceria, 10, Paved Court, Richmond upon Thames, Surrey, UK
