Update: THE FISH BAR, TEDDINGTON
The owner of the shut down Fish Bar on Kingston Road, Teddington, has given a full update following the legal action which has led to its shock closure.
A close friend of owner John Charalambous, who helped organise the local crowd funding campaign which raised over £4000, gave this latest news on social media.
The shock and sudden closure of the fish and chip shop has baffled local residents who have been regular customers.
Laura Cole wrote: “John (The Fish Bar Teddington) would like to update the community.
“He is overwhelmed by the continuous support, kind words and well-wishing he is receiving from the local community on a daily basis.
“You cannot underestimate the strength this is giving him at a time of extreme stress and financial strain in his ongoing fight to overturn the outrageous and illegal act carried out by his landlord.
“This act effectively forced John to cease trading immediately when the Landlord broke in and changed the locks without any prior warning or the right to do so at The Fish Bar Teddington in early hours of the morning on Wed 7th August 2024.
”John, on Tuesday 20th Aug 2024 successfully secured and then served on the landlord a court injunction to stop the current situation and a court hearing is scheduled for Friday 30th August 2024 to hopefully right this wrong.
”Again, I would like to reiterate that every time I speak with John he talks about his extreme appreciation and gratefulness for the support he is receiving from the community.
“Let’s have faith in our legal justice system to correct this appalling act and that John will once again be serving you all with his Fish and Chips.”
Teddington Town revealed last week that the Fish Bar was closed down and boarded up and lawyers for the landlordz refused to comment,
