OLYMPIC LEGEND PAYS TRIBUTE TO BUSHY PARKRUN

Sir Mo Farah on one of his training runs in Bushy Park

The Olympic legend, Sir Mo Farah, who has lived in Teddington, is a big fan of the Bushy parkrun and was a regular face when he lived locally.

Mo, 41, the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Gold medallist in both the 5000 metres and the 10000 metres, paid tribute to the Bushy parkrun which celebrates its 1000th anniversary run this Saturday (August 31st)

He told Teddington Town: “Bushy Park is one of my favourite places in the world to run and it has played an important part in my training over the years.

“It’s fantastic that it is the home of parkrun which I can’t believe has been going for 20 years now.

“This week sees the 1000th event and I encourage everyone to get out and continue to support it. It’s so much fun because of its easy accessibility and family appeal. Happy Anniversary Bushy parkrun.
