Exclusive: THEY’RE BACK – HORSES RETURN TO TEDDINGTON’S PARK LANE STABLES
Photo Special of the return of the horses to their Teddington home at Park Lane Stables
The first horses have made a ‘gentle return’ to their traditional home in Park Lane Stables, Teddington Town has learned.
We were invited to visit today to see the horses as they gradually acclimatise to their new surroundings now they have left Manor Farm in Ham.
Founder and owner Natalie O’Rourke explained that the horses needed to get used to new sounds and smells which can be ‘very stressful’ before the Stables move into full-scale operation.
Local residents and supporters have welcomed the sight of the horses as they once again become a familiar sight in the local streets near the Stables and Bushy Park.
The Stables launched a new scheme today called Roll With It to support those riders with severe learning difficulties and those in wheelchairs offering walks in to nearby Bushy Park and a ‘cuppa and sing song’ back in the community area of the new building.
Work began on the refurbishing and upgrade of the Stables began in June 2023 after a massive fundraising campaign, led by Natalie, which attracted headlines and TV coverage all over the world.
The exterior walls on Park Lane carry 1300 names on individual bricks of those who contributed to the fund-raising and the Stables themselves carry the name of other significant supporters.
