WOMAN PEDESTRIAN INJURED IN HIGH STREET, TEDDINGTON
Mid-afternoon shoppers rushed to help a woman pedestrian injured in a collision with a car yesterday ((wed) afternoon.
According to witnesses the incident happened around 4pm almost outside Marks & Spencer quite close to the pedestrian crossing.
Staff from M & S were amongst those who comforted the victim before the ambulance and police arrived on the scene.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.09pm yesterday (Wednesday 18 September) to reports of a road traffic collision in High Street, Teddington.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew and a paramedic in a fast response car.
“Our crews treated a woman at the scene, before taking her to hospital.”
Eye-witness Nicholas Lissack wrote on X (formerly Twitter) :
“I’m in Teddington, where an elderly woman has just been struck by a car.
“Though the ambulance hasn’t arrived yet, locals—including M&S staff—have already jumped into action, caring for the woman and managing the traffic.
“This is Britain’s true spirit on display: people uniting in a moment of crisis, stepping up without hesitation. Every single person here is a hero!”
