TEDDINGTON LOTTERY SPONSORS BIG XMAS LIGHTS UP EVENT

The local community Teddington Lottery is sponsoring this year’s eagerly-awaited Teddington Lights Up event on Thursday, November 28, it was confirmed today.

The event which attracts thousands of visitors is supported by local retailers in High Street, Broad Street and Church Road and Richmond Council and will feature a special lantern parade at 4,30pm as well as the usual stalls and attractions.

The lottery, which is also supporting the new Ted’s Market at the King’s Head pub on Saturday mornings,  was launched several years ago with the aim of helping local Good Causes raise much-needed funds especially during the difficult years of the pandemic.

The big difference between the National Lottery and the local lottery as that the players can actually choose which causes they wish to support when they buy their weekly tickets.

Teddington Lights Up is organised by Teddington Together and includes a spectacular Christmas Lights switch on ceremony and attracts thousands of visitors including many local families with kids.

It’s simple to play The Teddington Lottery which operates online only at www.teddingtonlottery.co.uk, where there is a comprehensive list of local community Good Causes which you can select from or add your own.

There is a chance to win a massive jackpot of £25.000 which has been won by Hampton Hill Theatre as well as other cash prizes of £2000, £250, £25 and three free tickets for the next Saturday’s draw.

From every £1 ticket you purchase 60p goes directly to local Good Causes in Teddington and across the Borough.

Since launch the local lottery has raised over £111,000 for local causes and given out £46.000 in cash prizes. If a charity, sports group or a school can sell just 50 tickets a week through its network of supporters you can raise £1300 every year.
