NEW RAMP FOR TEDDINGTON FOOTBRIDGE

Work on the new ramp leading to the Teddington footbridge at Ferry Road has almost been completed.
The temporary route surrounded by wooden panels has now been dismantled and the ramp is back in its traditional position.
Work is continuing at the site but the bridge structure and supports have been painted and the surfaces upgraded.

Phase one of the works began in summer 2023 and involved removing the areas of corrosion, repairing and replacing any steel work across both structures along with the application of a new protective paint system.
Repair works to the timber structures on the island between the bridges and on the Ham approach have also been made.
The bridges were fully closed last weekend from October 11 until October 14 to allow work on the ramp to be stepped up.
The well advertised closure still caught walkers and cyclists by surprise which gave The Flying Cloud and The Anglers pub a boost for business.
