TEDDINGTON’S SATURDAY MARKET DOES A ROARING TRADE
PHOTO SPECIAL
Ted’s Market launched in the car park of The King’s Head pub in Teddington with a massive community turnout of support.
Organiser Jack Pass was overwhelmed with number of customers and estimated over 1500 attended between 9am and 2pm.
The demand for fresh bread took Olivier’s Bread by surprise with supplies running out two hours before closing time.
The French Comte – which had an impressive display of different cheeses – all sourced from France – had a queue most of the morning.
The market, which is due to run on the last Saturday of every month was such a success that organiser Jack Pass will explore the possibility of more market days.
He said: “People kept asking me if we would be here next week and were really disappointed when I told them it was once a month.”
On top of the range of stalls offering fruit and vegetables, cheese, meats, bread and pies, home made soups, Indian dishes and coffee Jack hopes to offer fresh fish and cakes at the next market.
Ted’s Market is supported by the Teddington Lottery which supports local Good Causes. You can choose your own Good Cause and stand a chance of winning £25.000 in the Saturday night draws by buying lottery tickets at www.teddingtonlottery.co.uk
