ICE SKATING RETURNS TO HAMPTON COURT PALACE
IT’S suddenly that time of year again when ice skating returns to its traditional majestic surroundings of Hampton Court Palace.
Construction work is well underway at the front of the Palace to build the massive marquee and the large base overlooking the River Thames in time for a grand opening of ‘Skating Through History‘ on November 22.
It will remain open until January 5 2025.
The ice rink has a magnificent backdrop of Henry VIII’s famous and historic Palace home and attracts thousands of visitors every year. In previous year the rink has been temporarily closed because the weather was so mild the ice melted.
As well as the ice skating experience there will be a a delicious selection of festive refreshments from the onsite Ice Cafe and Bar by the Admirable Crichton (café reservations are recommended and can be made via the booking system), or couple your skate with a trip to the Festive Fayre which is back for two Christmassy weekends on 6th–8th and 13th–15th December.
You can also extend your visit with a trip inside Hampton Court Palace and discover over 60 acres of gardens, race through the UK’s oldest hedge maze and discover the historic chocolate kitchen. Pre-booking is essential, book here!
Peak sessions: Held during busiest days and time slots.
Off peak sessions: These are scheduled during quieter times and are more affordable for those on a budget.
Quiet & Calm Sessions: Available 10am everyday. These sessions have a reduced capacity, softer music and static lighting, ideal for those with sensory or light sensitivities.

Hampton Court Palace Ice Rink is open daily from 22 November 2024 to 5 January 2025 (excluding Christmas Day).
Skating sessions last up to 45 minutes. The ticket price includes skate hire and excludes the online booking fee. Please arrive 30 to 40 minutes before your session to get ready to take to the ice.
