BUILDERS ARMS ALL SET FOR REOPENING ON THURSDAY
The much anticipated reopening of one of Teddington’s most popular and traditional pubs, The Builders Arms in Field Lane, will take place at 5pm on Thursday.
Former regulars have already planned their visits on an exciting night for Teddington which also celebrates the annual Lights Up event with late night opening and stalls on the High Street and Broad Street.
The new grey pub sign was hanging from the Builders today as well as classy new external signage while a team of workmen focussed on making the opening time deadline.
The future of the Builders had been uncertain after a two year closure but then a local businessman and pub regular paid £800.000 to save the pub for the community.
The pub’s new manager Barry Wilson told Teddington Town: “There is certainly a real sense of excitement about the pub reopening and everyone involved has worked so hard to make this happen.
”We know that a lot of the Builders regulars are very loyal to the pub and will support us but there are lots of new people in Teddington and we hope they discover us soon too.”
Meanwhile, the centrepiece of the Lights Up celebrations – the Christmas Tree – has been erected in its usual place outside the Post Office at the junction of Elmfield Road and the High Street but is undecorated.
